• Q. Why did you choose the name “Life and Pursuits”?

    ‘Life and Pursuits’ is a celebration of Life and what’s really important in life. In all our endeavours (education, career, relations, success etc.), everyone’s ultimate pursuit is happiness and fulfilment’. People who work towards a higher ‘purpose’ in life, as opposed to just chasing money or career are much happier and content with their lives. Life and Pursuits is a mission to promote humanity, happiness, health and harmony in the world. In doing so, we hope to bring positivity and enrichment to the lives we touch!

  • Q. What kind of social and environmental initiatives are you involved in?

    At the heart of Life and Pursuits mission is a not-for-profit organization, the Life and Pursuits Foundation, which organizes and supports initiatives focusing on true and holistic wellness of an individual, family and society.

    The Life and Pursuits mission has identified wellness of children & mothers as one of its primary focus areas. Keeping children and mothers at the centre of our initiatives allows us to work in the best interest of family, and in turn, the society. Our services and top-class products are designed accordingly. We undertake many projects and campaigns at any point in time to spearhead causes dear to us, and invite volunteers from all walks of life to be part of them and pursue their higher purposes.

    Some of our current projects / campaigns are:
    - Ensuring that children are not exposed to any hazardous and toxic products. At present, most of the personal care products, food products, toys, contain some or the other harmful & toxic content. To change this, we plan to educate consumers so that they make well informed and healthy choices when buying products.
    - Ensuring that consumers are made aware of false / misleading claims made by product companies for their ulterior motives. This problem is all the more rampant in developing countries in Asia. We plan to undertake massive customer awareness program to change this.
    - Campaigning with Governments so that ineffective and archaic laws can be modified and a stricter regulatory regime is established to ensure the highest standards of product safety. As a society, we need to ensure that Governments and companies do not continue to treat this issue casually
    - Promoting the organic lifestyle. This means healthier lives and a better environment for all of us. We strongly believe that the closer we stay to the nature, the more fulfilling & happy lives we’ll lead Partner with passionate individuals / communities / organizations to promote true wellbeing and also help in their pursuits Some of the causes identified include reducing toxicity in our lives, promoting true wellbeing and organic lifestyle.

    We have been actively organizing online and offline campaigns, seminars, etc. to increase public awareness about safety standards and issues with consumer products.

  • Q. What are USDA Organic and NATRUE certification?

    Markets are filled with mislabeled products claiming ‘Natural and ‘Organic’. Certifications are the only credible source to ascertain whether a product is genuinely organic and authentic. We have opted for the highest organic standards in the industry and have certified all our products.

    USDA Organic is the official Organic program of the Government of the USA. Globally, it is the most recognized and stringent organic certification. The certification was launched to define standards for food and agricultural by-products. However, it has now been extended to skin care and textile products.  

    NATRUE is the leading Europe based Organic Certification program committed to promote Natural and Organic Cosmetics worldwide. NATRUE analyzes both ingredients and processes used for products development.

  • Q. How do organic and natural products differ from conventional products?

    Conventional products comprises of ingredients derived from plants, petroleum and synthetic compounds. Many such petroleum and synthetic ingredients have long term negative side effects and harm skin and other body parts. Synthetic compounds are comparatively inexpensive to produce than organic and natural ingredients, thus they are widely used. Natural products have 100% plant or plant derived ingredients, water and naturally occuring salts. Organic products are natural products that have significantly high proportion of certified organic plant ingredients.

  • Q. There are many products with ‘organic/natural/herbal’ tags in the market. How are your products different?

    In India, these terms don’t have any legal definition. They can be used on a product even by adding NO organic ingredient at all. The market is flooded by such unethical products that prominently write Organic / Natural / Herbal on their labels with impunity. This sorry state of affairs is there as the out-dated laws are simply insufficient to stop this ‘green-washing’. In the US, use of word ‘Organic’ is regulated by the US Department of Agriculture, which states that there should be at least 95% certified organic ingredients in the product to use ‘Organic’ word on the label. There are other independent organic certification bodies like India's NPOP, NATRUE, etc. with their own strict criteria. So, unless the product has been certified by USDA or any other well-known third party certification bodies, there are high chances the product is actually NOT organic and safe.   • Q. Why do you only use natural fragrance? Why not use synthetic fragrance?

    We only use natural essential oils to enhance fragrance of our child and adult products. Synthethic fragrances and perfumes can cause allergies and are not suitable for sensitive children and adults. We use mild and soft Essential oils or natural fragrances that are produced through labour-intensive processes by extracting the essence from aromatic plants and fruits like rose, lemon, lavender, orange, etc.

  • Q. “No artificial colour” – what does it mean?

    We do not use any artificial colors in our products. What you see in our range of products is the natural colour of pure herbal extracts, oils and essential oils used. Numerous synthetic colors are added in various personal care products to enhance their appearance and aid in easy identification. Synthetic colors are highly harmful as they contain heavy metals such as lead, arsenic and aluminum. These are absorbed by human skin and can result in dermatitis, skin cancer, skin rashes, eye irritations and respiratory disorders.

  • Q. What exactly is cold pressed oil?

    The process used for extracting oils from vegetable seeds has a direct effect on the amount of nutrients in an oil. Usage of heat or solvents increases the yield of oil, however it strips the oil off flavor, aroma, and nutritional value. Extracting oil through cold-pressing involves crushing the seed or nut and forcing out the oil without heating it. Cold pressed oils retain all of their flavor, aroma, natural antioxidants and vitamins, making such oils great for all cooking and skin care requirements.

  • Q. What is the benefits of using virgin oils as compared to the refined light oils?

    Virgin oils are pure untreated oils generally made by cold pressing technique. They have natural flavor, aroma and peculiar color due to the presence of certain colloidal and other particles. Several companies treat virgin oils with natural and synthetic ingredients to make them light and remove their natural aroma. This process of refining, bleaching and deodorizing (RBD) removes naturally occurring vitamins, anti-oxidants and other nutrients from Oils. To get the most therapeutic benefit out of organic oils it is recommended to use virgin oils for food and skin care requirements.

  • Q. How do you choose your ingredients?

    Our team consists of experienced Ayurvedacharyas and Cosmetics Scientists who help us in identifying best ingredients with high therapeutic values. We have tied up with farmer groups and communities in India to source natural and certified organic ingredients. We also use a few plant-derived ingredients that have been produced using approved processes. All our ingredients are marked green on EWG safety index for being safe and nontoxic.

  • Q. Do you hide any ingredient?

    Transparency is one of the fundamental principles that we follow. All our product ingredients, even fragrance, are clearly mentioned on the label. We don’t believe in hiding anything from our customers.

  • Q. What is the shelf life of your products?

    We don’t believe in mass-market, factory model of production. We produce in small batches with utmost focus on quality and believe in having shorter shelf life, so that consumers get fresh products without harsh preservatives. Most synthetic and conventional products use parabens based preservatives to extend shelf life to as long as 36-60 months. Our products come with a shelf life of 12-18 months.

  • Q. How does you preserve your formulations? Do you use preservatives in your products?

    Yes, we use preservatives to prevent any bacterial/fungi growth in our products. However, we do not use any parabens, BHA/BHT or any other harmful/un-safe preservative. Instead we use only food grade preservative with no harmful effects.

  • Q. Is Life and Pursuit’s packaging recyclable?

    We use food grade PET material for product packaging, to protect and preserve both the product formulation and the environment. This material is safe to use, durable and recyclable.

  • Q. What are your charges for shipping in India?

    We offer free shipping for all orders.

  • Q. How long does it take for the order to be delivered after I place my order?

    We process all orders within 24 hours, except Sundays and public holidays. Your product may reach you within 2-7 days after dispatch, depending on the location and mode of shipping chosen.

  • Q. How can I track my order?

    You will receive a notification email with the order tracking number once your order has been shipped. You can track consignment status through ‘My Account’ section in our website or through the website of our logistics partner using the tracking number sent to you.

  • Q. Do you offer Cash on Delivery?

    Yes, we offer Cash on Delivery. You'll be required to pay additional Rs 50.

  • Q. Do you offer International shipping?

    Currently we ship only in India.

Returns & Cancellations

  • Q. How can I cancel my order?

    You can easily cancel your order through ‘My Account’ section on our website until the product has not been shipped by us. If you have made a guest check out, you can get in touch with our customer care team through mail or telephone within 24 hours of your placement of order. The order amount debited from your account will be refunded within 10 working days. Orders that have been shipped cannot be cancelled. Please refer to our Returns Policy for further details.

  • Q. When should I expect refund for the cancelled orders?

    The order amount debited to you will be refunded in the original form of payment within 10 working days of placing the cancellation request. We can also credit amount to your ‘Life and Pursuits’ account, which you can use later for ordering on our website.

  • Q. What if I used discount coupon or loyalty points during time of payment and I have to cancel my order?

    Discount coupons are valid for only one transaction and can’t be reused. If you have utilized your reward points for the order, the same will be credited to your account in the case of a cancellation.

  • Q. What is your return policy?

    We stand behind our products and want customers to be satisfied with them. We'll always do our best to take care of customers—our philosophy is to deal with them fairly and reasonably.

    We have a rigorous quality check process in place for all of our shipments. In any unlikely and rare scenario, if you find any quality issue pertaining to the product please contact us on ph +91 120 4373938 or email at care@lifeandpursuits.com within 24 hours of receiving the product. Once we hear from you, our team will further investigate and help you in the best way we can. If the quality issue is established by our team we will be happy to exchange the product or initiate a refund for you.

    Please note that products should be unopened, with the tags intact and in their original packaging when raising an exchange/refund request. We do not accept exchange/refund request unless there is a quality issue with the product received.
